FAQ
Is it approved for use in Canada and the United States?
Our Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer is compliant and approved by Health Canada’s standards for alcohol-based hand sanitizers. And, in the United States, it exceeds the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for percent alcohol content in hand sanitizer. For more information about the benefits of both handwashing and alcohol-based hand sanitizers, click here.
Get Clean® Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer contains 65% alcohol, which aligns with or exceeds all agency recommendations for alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
These recommendations are based on numerous studies that have found that sanitizers with an alcohol concentration of between 60-80% are more effective at killing germs than those with a lower alcohol concentration or non-alcohol-based hand sanitizers. Hand sanitizers with alcohol percentages lower than 60% lack the potency needed to kill the majority of germs, and sanitizers with high concentrations may evaporate too quickly. The extra water content in hand sanitizers slows evaporation, increasing surface contact time with germs and enhancing effectiveness.
