EPA Climate Leader
Shaklee is dedicated to acting as a catalyst for change and setting an example for environmental leadership.
The company will continue to work to offset 100% of CO2 generated annually by Shaklee operations in order to achieve a net-zero impact on the environment.
- 1998 Shaklee becomes a Charter Partner of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Climate Wise Program, which set aggressive corporate-wide greenhouse gas reduction goals.
- 2000 Shaklee is the first company in the world to obtain Climate Neutral certification and totally offset its CO2 emissions, resulting in a net-zero impact on the environment.
- 2002 Shaklee receives the Climate Protection Award from the EPA.
- 2006 Shaklee joins the EPA Climate Leader's program and pledges to maintain net-zero U.S. greenhouse gas emissions through 2009.
- 2007 Shaklee is the first consumer products company to offset 100% of CO2 emissions through the EPA Climate Leaders program and use 100% green power.
- 2008 Shaklee is named to the Top 20 Retail Partner list by the EPA Green Power Partnership in recognition of being a top purchaser of green power.
- 2009 Roger Barnett is honoured with a Clean Air Award by Breathe California in recognition of Shaklee Corporation's contributions to reducing global warming and improving air quality.
- 2009 Shaklee is honoured with the Business Environmental Award for Sustainability from Acterra: Action for a Healthy Planet.
- 2009 Shaklee is honoured with a Green Power Leadership Award from the EPA in recognition of the company's commitment and contribution to helping advance the development of the nation's voluntary green power market.
- 2010 The EPA announces the Climate Leaders Program is ending. However, Shaklee will continue to measure our carbon footprint and maintain net-zero emissions.
Progress Towards Goal Completion
- Shaklee was able to reduce natural gas use by 7% in company headquarters from 2013 to 2014.
- Shaklee uses 100% green power for electricity.
- Between 2006 and 2008, Shaklee planted 1,000,000 trees as part of its A Million Trees, A Million Dreams™ campaign.

- 2011 Despite the dissolution of the EPA Climate Leaders Program, Shaklee continues to measure our carbon footprint and maintain net-zero emissions.
- 2012 Shaklee continues to measure our carbon footprint and maintain net-zero emissions, as well as participate in the EPA's Green Power Partnership.
- 2013 Shaklee continues to maintain net-zero emissions and participate in the EPA's Green Power Partnership.
- 2014 Shaklee continues to measure our carbon footprint, maintain net-zero emissions, and participate in the EPA's Green Power Partnership.
- 2015 Shaklee continues to measure our carbon footprint, maintain net-zero emissions, and participate in the EPA's Green Power Partnership.
- 2016 Shaklee continues to measure our carbon footprint, maintain net-zero emissions, and participate in the EPA's Green Power Partnership.
